About Jarnell

Jarnell Stokes, is a former five-star prospect from Memphis' Southwind High School, who skipped his senior season in high school and enrolled early at the University of Tennessee (2011-2014). During his time at UT, Stokes also played with the USA FIBA U18 & U19 and went on to the 2012-2013 Championship. Stokes was declared for the NBA Draft after his junior season at UT. He was selected by the Utah Jazz with the No. 35 overall pick, but he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies (2014-2015) that same night. From There Jarnell has played for the Miami Heat (2016), Soiux Falls Skyforce (2016) and the Denver Nuggets (2016) and the Zhejiang Golden Bulls (2018) in China. 

The best play of Stokes’ professional career in the U.S. came in the 2015-16 season, when he led the Sioux Falls Skyforce — an affiliate of the Miami Heat — to a 40-10 record and an NBA D-League championship. Stokes was named the D-League’s regular-season MVP and Finals MVP, averaging a team-high 20.6 points and team-high 9.3 rebounds per game.

Jarnell is kicking off the 2018-2019 Season with a return to the roster for the Miami Heat.
